The Cameragal Montessori Under 3s environment is created specifically for children under 36 months. It is a neat, orderly and intimate space that focuses on the development of movement and the refinement of language. It lays the foundation for life, as the first three years of life are the most fundamental for children and their potential.
A parent/carer must attend with the child. It is recommended for the parents to observe, so the child can independently work through the activities. The program is attended for one morning each week, with sessions held Monday to Thursday, during school terms. At Cameragal Montessori 0-3 Program, we have 9 children with parent/carer, with one Montessori trained teacher running the program.
From the age of three, children who have attended the 0-3 program have the opportunity to continue on to Cameragal Montessori Preprimary, which ensures priority for a position in the Cameragal Montessori Primary School.
Cameragal Montessori 0-3 program provides structured, individualised developmental activities which develop the child’s:
- basic faith in themself
- urge for independence
- self-esteem and confidence
- concentration span
Maria Montessori said “The essence of independence is to be able to do something for one’s self.”
This is achieved through the repetition of activities that lay the foundation of language, movement, order and perception. We provide age appropriate, real life practical experiences to foster the development of life skills.
Our goal is to educate, empower and support parents in the Montessori method that can be transferred to the home environment.
“The environment must be rich in motives which lend interest to activity and invite the child to conduct his own experiences.” – Maria Montessori
